Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

General Principles

The Allelopathy Journal, published by Allelopathy Books, upholds the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. We adhere to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure transparency, fairness, and quality in scholarly publishing. All parties involved—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—must comply with these ethical standards to maintain the journal’s credibility.

Manuscripts undergo a rigorous 15-stage processing pipeline, including peer review by international experts, to ensure scientific accuracy and ethical compliance. Ethical misconduct, such as plagiarism, data falsification, or duplicate submission, is strictly prohibited and may result in rejection or retraction.

Author Responsibilities
  • Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must certify that their manuscript is original, not plagiarised, and has not been published elsewhere. Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is grounds for rejection.
  • Exclusivity: Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively to the Allelopathy Journal and not under consideration elsewhere, as per the Author Certificate.
  • Authorship: All listed authors must have significantly contributed to the research and manuscript preparation. Authorship disputes must be resolved before submission.
  • Data Integrity: Authors must provide accurate, reproducible data and avoid fabrication or falsification. Raw data may be requested during review.
  • Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest that could influence the research.
  • Citations: Authors must cite their published work in future publications, as required by the journal.
  • Corrections and Retractions: Authors must promptly address errors or ethical issues post-publication, cooperating with the editorial team for corrections or retractions.
Editor Responsibilities
  • Fairness: Editors evaluate manuscripts based on scientific merit, without bias toward race, gender, nationality, or institutional affiliation.
  • Confidentiality: Editors maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and reviewer identities, except in cases of suspected misconduct.
  • Peer Review: The Chief Editor and Associate Editors ensure a rigorous, double-blind peer review process involving international experts. Manuscripts undergo four review stages, including preliminary screening and peer review.
  • Decision-Making: The Chief Editor's decision on acceptance or rejection is final, based on reviewer recommendations and journal standards.
  • Conflict of Interest: Editors recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where they have a conflict of interest.
Reviewer Responsibilities
  • Objectivity: Reviewers provide unbiased, constructive feedback based on scientific quality and relevance to the journal's scope.
  • Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential and not use unpublished information for personal gain.
  • Timeliness: Reviewers are expected to complete reviews within 10 days, as per journal policy, to ensure efficient processing.
  • Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves if necessary.
  • Ethical Concerns: Reviewers must report suspected plagiarism, data falsification, or other ethical issues to the editor.
Publisher Responsibilities
  • Editorial Independence: Allelopathy Books ensures editors have full autonomy in editorial decisions without commercial influence.
  • Transparency: The publisher provides clear guidelines on submission, peer review, and publication charges, available on the journal website.
  • Access: Published articles are hosted on a 24/7 accessible server, with free online access for one year for corresponding authors.
  • Ethical Oversight: The publisher investigates and resolves ethical complaints in collaboration with the editorial team.
  • Non-Profit Commitment: As a non-profit, Allelopathy Books uses publication charges solely to cover operational and production costs.
Handling Misconduct

The Allelopathy Journal takes allegations of misconduct seriously, including plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate publication, or authorship disputes. Procedures include:

  • Investigation: The Chief Editor investigates complaints, consulting authors, reviewers, or external experts as needed.
  • Actions: Depending on the severity, actions may include manuscript rejection, retraction, or notification of the author's institution.
  • Retractions: Retracted articles are clearly marked, with reasons published on the journal website.
  • Disputes: Ethical disputes are resolved in the Judicial Courts of Rohtak, Haryana, India, as per journal policy.
  • Reporting: Use the contact form below to report ethical concerns, providing specific details and evidence.
